Dalhousie located in the Chamba district of Himachal , spread out in the five hills – Kathlog potreys , Tehra , Bakrota and Bolun .Located at the Altitude of 1970 meters above sea level This town is named after Lord Dalhousie who was the 19th British Governor General , You can see impact of colonial rule on Dalhousie , some of the major places are St John as well as St Francis Churches which was build in 1800s during the British Rule . Hill station is surrounded with the pine tree , Deodars, Oaks , and Rhododendrous which is the state Flower of the Himachal . This mesmerizing town is away from the hustle and bustle of the city , known mainly for – Khajjiar- “ Mini Switzerland”of India .
Winters Starts From early October and it continues till Mid April , During December and January temperature falls to – 3c and some time -5 c . During winters there is an heavy snowfall in dalhousie . Roads are blocked during winters , Khajjiar is totally closed during winter ,Summer starts in early May when temperatures can reach 30 c.
