Overview

Dalhousie is a charming hill station in Himachal Pradesh known for its colonial architecture, serene landscapes and cool climate. Established during the British era, the town retains its old-world charm with beautiful churches, scenic walking trails, and panoramic views of the Dhauladhar mountain range. Dalhousie is also the gateway to Khajjiar, a picturesque meadow often called the Mini Switzerland of India.

By Air Nearest airport is Pathankot Airport (approx. 75 km). 

Another major airport is Amritsar Airport (approx. 200 km). 

By Train Nearest railway station is Pathankot Railway Station (approx. 80 km) which is well connected with major cities like Delhi, Amritsar and Jammu. 

By Road Dalhousie is well connected by road from Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Dharamshala and Shimla. Regular taxis and buses are available.

The best time to visit Dalhousie depends on the experience you want:

Best for sightseeing and pleasant weather 

September – November: 

Clear mountain views and peaceful environment December – February: Ideal for snowfall lovers
